Aluminum aircraft float companies have for decades pretty much designed around the tried and true shapes and designs of “EDO”. Composite float companies have also followed suit by basically copying the EDO model.
It is our intent to finally design a float using all the benefits of a variety of composites. While the shapes may be similar, the float will incorporate all the advantages of the composites of today.
Starting with laminate schedules designed using uniquely woven Carbon Fiber married to Basalt/Innegra Hybrid and Eglass, the shell will be the lightest, toughest, and most forgiving float ever made.
Innovations in the hull design will contribute to getting this float not only on the step quicker, but into the air faster.
Innovations to the bulkheads/compartments inside of the float will make it safer.
Innovations in assembly will make it possible for the home builder to buy it as a kit and assemble it in a few days, saving literally thousands over the cost of today’s finished composite floats.
Further innovations in design will allow the home builder to customize the spreader bar/strut locations to perfectly match their aircrafts float fitting locations.
Yet the most innovative change in this floats design will be its landing gear. It's removable and conversion to straight float configuration takes just a few minutes.
